How and why I plan to use Blogger in my own classroom
Student voice and choice: It has been proven that students learn more with voice and choice in their learning environment. Using a blogging platform, like Blogger, is a great way to give students s chance to share their thinking and all the amazing learning they are doing at school. Our school is just about to go 1:Web, which means that each student is going to have their own chromebook to use at school. I can definitely see in the future having a Blog for each of my class periods, or if students are interested, teaching them how to create their own. This way they have an ongoing journal of their educational journey not only for their own purposes (helping build their educational portfolio) but it also serves as a communication portal between school and home. Parents can very quickly see what the latest happenings are in class and what learning their students are engaging in.
